A delicious, sweet, and floral latte to spice up your morning coffee routine. It’s the perfect latte recipe for Spring!

Spring is officially here, and I couldn’t be more excited!
I’m so ready for warmer weather and sunnier days.
I’m soooooo over winter. I’m ready to say good bye to winter boots, large puffy coats, and heavy comfort food and hhheeellllooo to light sweaters, fresh Spring produce, and lighter, brighter meals.
This is always the time of year I switch from hot coffee to iced lattes too!
That’s why I’m bringing you this new recipe: Rose Cardamom Iced Lattes.

Let’s get to shaken!
These lattes are made with rich expresso, creamy dairy-free milk, and a bright, floral, perfectly sweet rose cardamom simple syrup. It’s the perfect morning boost for any Spring morning!
Rose seemed like the perfect flavor to ring in the Spring. It’s floral, sweet, and refreshing. Don’t be intimidated or confused by this flavor! I just tried it for the first time recently too, and if used correctly, it adds a beautiful, floral pop of flavor. You just need to make sure not to use too much as to make it overpowering.
Rose petals also have many health benefits, such as they contains vitamins & antioxidants. Plus, contain therapeutic benefits that can nourish the skin, increase immunity, reduce stress and improve digestion. A pretty pink power house!

I paired the rose petals with honey and cardamom. The cardamom adds a fresh lemony, slightly minty flavor that’s crisp and refreshing and pairs beautifully with the rose. The floral flavors in the honey compliment the floral flavors in the rose and the honey adds a rich, sweet robustness.
To make the simple syrup, add the honey, water, cardamom pods, and rose petals to a pot and bring to a gentle boil. Cook until the honey is fully dissolved in the water and the rose petals become fragrant. Take off the heat and allow to sit, covered, for 20 minutes. This allows the flavors in the cardamom and rose to seep into the honey water mixture. Strain the mixture into a glass container and set in fridge to cool.
I added 1/4 cup dried rose petals from Suncore Foods to the simple syrup – it’s just the right amount to get the rose flavor without feeling like your eating a bouquet of flowers.

Time to make the lattes. In a shaker, add a shot or 2 of expresso (depending on how much energy you need to wake up that morning!), 2-3 tablespoons of the simple syrup, and 1/2 cup of dairy free milk. Give it a good shake and pour it into a pretty glass. Viola – you have your self a delicious, pretty, & unique, Spring latte!

I hope you love this first Spring recipe of the season. It’s the first of many to come to the blog soon 🌷
