The Best Healthier Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

This is the BEST healthier banana bread. It's fluffy, light, and moist, bursting with banana flavor, studded with dark chocolate chips, and made with tons of healthy ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup oat flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup plain or vanilla greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil melted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup coconut sugar
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 overripe bananas about a cup
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips plus 1 tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together all of the dry ingredients.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and sugars. Mix in yogurt, coconut oil, and vanilla. Fold in mashed bananas.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until jus combined. Do not over-mix or bread may become tough.
  5. Finally, gently fold into the dark chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased 8x4 bread pan and top with additional dark chocolate chips. Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until a toothpick or fork comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool. Cut into slices.
  8. Serve and enjoy!
