Apple cider syrup, clove bitters, lots of bourbon, and cinnamon come together to create a delicious drink! It's the perfect Fall twist on the classic cocktail.
In a heavy bottom sauce pan, add the apple cider and cinnamon stick and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Bring back down to a simmer over medium-low heat. Allow the cider to simmer for about an hour, or until it reduces to about 3/4 cup. Take off heat and allow to cool.
To make the old fashioned, add the apple cider syrup, fresh orange juice, desired amount of bourbon, and bitters to an old fashioned pitcher with ice. Stir until all the ingredients are well-combined and cold. Strain into a whiskey glass. Add one large ice cube (or multiple regular cubes).
You can make a large batch of these by multiplying the ingredients with as many OFs you want to serve and storing in fridge in large pitcher until ready to serve. Just make sure to add the sparkling water at the end when serving.
