Rose Cardamom Simple Syrup

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon cardamom seeds
  • 1/4 cup dried rose petals I used Suncore

  • 1 1/2 shots expresso
  • 2-3 tablespoons rose cardamom simple syrup more or less depending on desired sweetness
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • ice cubes

  1. In a sauce pan, combine water, honey, cardamom pods, and rose petals. Bring to a soft boil, then lower to a simmer and allow to simmer until the sugar is fully dissolved and the rose petals become more fragrant. Take off heat and let sit, covered, for 20 minutes.

  2. Strain mixture into a container. Allow to cool completely. Store in fridge.*
  3. To make the latte, add ice to a tall glass. Add simple syrup, milk, and expresso and stir until well combined.**
  4. Sip and enjoy!

Recipe Notes

*The drink is best if made with cold simple syrup. The simple syrup can be made the day before and stored in the fridge for about a month. **This drink is customizable to your taste.
